Rolling Thunder Club Raises Money for Veterans, Families
Posted by ellymay on Tuesday, July 22, 2008 (00:55:00) (29 reads)
At age 13, Cody Moore has immersed himself in a cause that very few teens - or adults - spend much time worrying about. He's dedicated his time and heart to making sure Americans of all ages remember thousands of American prisoners of war were left behind after previous military conflicts. Like other members of Rolling Thunder, he also works to help veterans of the past and the future.
North Carolina - On Saturday, that meant spending hours washing cars at an ice cream bar off Sullivan Road in Statesville to raise money for the VA Hospital in Salisbury. Other days it means chipping in to coordinate bingo games.

Ride on through the rain, and sooner or later, Mr. Sun will look down and bless you.
Texas - Leaders at Central Texas Youth Services in Belton created a legend with their first Mystery Ride about this time last year. Eleven hardy souls headed their motorcycles into a driving rainstorm on a 120-mile course after plunking down registration fees to benefit the agency's Project Safe Place, which recruits, trains and supplies businesses and public agencies to shelter children and youth in crisis in Bell, Coryell and McLennan counties.

Harley-Davidson Profit Beats Expectations
Posted by ellymay on Tuesday, July 22, 2008 (00:53:02) (27 reads)
U.S. motorcycle maker Harley-Davidson Inc (HOG.N: Quote, Profile, Research) reported better-than-expected earnings on Thursday, sending its shares higher in pre-market trading, as growth in international sales offset weakness in its key domestic market.
Wisconsin - The earnings beat comes despite rising fuel prices, tighter lending standards and falling homes prices, all of which are weighing on U.S. consumers and weighed on demand for the powersport industry's products. The company even acknowledged losing market share during the quarter.
